Thane Town Center

The 260 acre site split into two by the Mumbai-Nasik Highway was earmarked as 'Town Centre' by Thane Municipal Corporation as per Draft Development Plan Report of 1997. The master-plan was designed to develop an all commercial business district center reservation into a vibrant mixed land-use zone, with a right mix of residential and commerical, along retail, social amenities, and green areas. The plan also proposed to extend the town centre reservation boundary to cover the east edge, all the way upto the Ulhas Creek to form a distinct plublic promanade between the creek and developed plots.
